Renewable Resources

In a world of finite resources, Green building techniques are environmentally more efficient than those used in conventional construction.  Accordingly, Mosaic Oaks’ homes are built with an eye towards maximizing renewable resources. 

Perhaps the most obvious example of this consideration is in how these homes were designed and built to conserve electricity.  In a time of escalating fuel costs driven by increasing demand and decreasing supplies of raw materials, energy efficienct homes preserve resources AND SAVE MONEY. 

However, energy efficiency is only one of many examples of how these homes conserve resources.  For instance, the landscaping at Mosaic Oaksis is designed to conserve water through its indigenous plant selection and innovative irrigation system.  In an area such as Santa Rosa Beach in which the water table is very fragile, reducing water consumption for landscaping is becoming a necessity (although very few home landscapes in this area are designed with this consideration). 

Another example of how the homes at Mosaic Oaks have addressed renewable resources would be in how they conserve trees through the selection of building materials.  Bamboo flooring is a good example.  Because bamboo grows quickly, it is far more renewable as a flooring material than woods coming from slow-growth hardwood trees.  Fiber cement siding is another good example. As a man-made product, it doesn't involve using trees at all (never mind being far superior to wood in terms of protecting against termites, rot, fire, and wind damage). 

As a result of these choices and others, Mosaic Oaks’ homes are both less expensive in which to live AND friendlier to the environment than any other similarly priced homes in this area.
